FAQs

Exercise Physiology

  • No doctor's referral is needed to visit us.

  • Our holistic approach to healthcare involves collaborating with your current health professionals, whether that’s your GP, medical specialist or other allied health providers.

  • Typically, a physiotherapist provides the first step following acute injury, administering hands-on therapies such as massage and joint manipulation.

An exercise physiologist extends treatment beyond the consulting rooms, focusing on developing tailored exercise programs for performance enhancement, or injury rehabilitation and prevention. Their approach is geared towards long-term functional improvement and overall well-being.

  • An exercise physiologist has a university qualification, whereas a personal trainer has a relatively brief training period, typically less than 12 months.  Additionally, exercise physiologists can work within a broader scope than personal trainers. They are qualified to work not only with the general public, but also with individuals dealing with chronic health conditions, neurological disorders and mental illnesses.

Unlike personal trainers, exercise physiologists are recognised by Medicare and Private Health Funds for their expertise and knowledge, and rebates are available for specific medical conditions.
